While faculty and staff cannot "turn off" captions for their videos, they can delete, the auto-generated captions if the auto-captions on the Panopto video do not meet the desired accuracy level. Captions can be corrected. More information on correcting captions can be found at Adding automatic closed captions to Panopto videos
Open the videos' Settings window.
Locate the desired Panopto video and click the Settings gear. The Settings window will appear.
Delete the captions from the captions window
Click on Captions [1].
Click the expand triangle [2]. Additional options will appear.
Click Delete Captions [3].
Confirm the deletion
Click OK to confirm the deletion.
Close the Settings window
Click the Close button [x] to close the settings window.
